How to qualify a Plus 10 horse to win £10,000 bonuses
5th Nov 2015
The third and final Plus 10 Owner Registration is due for 2014 born horses by 28 February 2016.
The cost of registration is £350/€437.50, however a discount of £50/€62.50 applies if the paperwork is submitted by 31 December 2015.
Only horses which have previously had both the Foal and Yearling Registration paid remain in Plus 10 and are able to be fully qualified.
By paying the final registration, a horse will be considered qualified for the Plus 10 bonus scheme and will be able to win an unlimited number of £10,000/€12,500 bonuses across its two and three-year-old campaigns.
Each time a bonus is won by a qualified horse, the owner receives 75% with the remainder paid out 10% each to the payers of the first two registration stages and 5% to the trainer, jockey and stable staff.
In 2016, more than 350 British races will feature a Plus 10 bonus, while 100 bonuses will be applied to all two-year-old, non-black-type Irish races, rolling over until all are won.
Plus 10 horses sold at recent yearling sales featured a Plus 10 logo on pedigree pages within catalogues and regularly wore Plus 10 hip stickers in the ring.
To confirm if a yearling is part of Plus 10, you can also visit this page of the Plus 10 website; click on the relevant foal crop and enter a dam name to search a horse’s eligibility. Only those horses which remain in Plus 10 will feature, therefore if a horse does not appear within the list of eligible horses, it cannot be qualified for Plus 10.
Plus 10 bonuses will feature on the following races:
2YO: All Class 2, 3 and 4 Maiden, Novice and Conditions and Class 5 Fillies’ Only Maiden and Novice races
3YO: All Class 2, 3 and 4 Maiden and Conditions and Class 5 Fillies’ Only Maiden races
2YO: 100 bonuses available on all two-year-old, non-black-type races rolled over until all 100 bonuses are won
3YO: Unclaimed two-year-old bonuses applied to three-year-old only Maiden races from the beginning of the 2016 Flat season, until all remaining bonuses are won.
