£90,000 bonus pay-out during Newmarket Craven meeting

Nine Plus 10 bonuses, totalling £90,000, were paid to winning owners and breeders during the three-day Newmarket Craven meeting.

The winning spree kicked off on Tuesday afternoon when JACKSTAR, a two-year-old Dark Angel colt trained by Tom Dascombe and bred by Skymarc Farm, won well on debut for owner Mrs Caroline Ingram. Action later in the afternoon saw three-year-olds AURUM and PORTH SWTAN, bred by the Irish National Stud, both collect a £10,000 bonus for their connections, and complete the first of three days of Plus 10 trebles.

The bonus bonanza continued on the second day of the meeting and first to collect was STRINGS OF LIFE, a Slade Power filly owned and bred by Godolphin. Victories for three-year-olds QAZYNA and CEILIDH’S DREAM, in the two divisions of the EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes saw two more £10,000 bonuses paid to the fillies’ owners and breeders.

On the final day, three-year-olds SAWWAAH, SHEIKA REIKA and NORDIC LIGHTS each boosted their race winnings with a Plus 10 bonus.

In Britain £210,000 of bonus prize money has been paid out so far this year, and as the flat turf season gets into full swing, there will be plenty of opportunities for horses to win a £10,000 bonus. To view upcoming Plus 10 races, visit:
